Lorne, the reserved and stoic captain of an Ivy League football team, deliberately keeps everyone at a distance—never accepting any romantic overtures—due to the heavy burdens of his family background. Lucien, a gifted mixed-race freshman, enrolls specifically to get closer to him, and the two initially clash. To ease the tension, their coach assigns them to share an apartment. Through their daily proximity, Lucien’s straightforward yet gentle companionship gradually breaks down Lorne’s emotional defenses.
